Bridget with her cousins

“A cousin is a ready-made friend for life.”

I’m learning that the holidays take on a new meaning with a child. It’s like experiencing them again for the first time because of the excitement of sharing our traditions with Bridget and starting some of our own.

This Thanksgiving, we celebrated it just like the last four years: Thursday with my family at my Mom’s cousins’ house and the weekend following at Brian’s parents with my brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. But this year, we had our sweet Bridget in tow.

As this is one of few times throughout the year that Brian’s side of the family is all together and it was after this year’s baby boom, a family photo was planned. Sadly, due to unfortunate circumstances, the big group photo did not happen. However, we did get the kids assembled in their holiday best (compliments of my mother-in-law) for the photographer. How fun is this picture?

Clearly, there wasn’t a chance of getting 10 kids under the age of 9 to look at the camera at the same time, but that’s what I love about it; cousins just having fun together at Grandma and Grandpa’s.
